Singapore Deploys SAF to Combat National Crisis of Taobao Assembly Fails
**Singapore**—The Government has announced a radical new scheme to tackle the national anxiety stemming from improperly assembled Taobao furniture, a silent epidemic sweeping through Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats and condominiums alike.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) revealed that due to a 400% spike in domestic disputes citing ‘unidentifiable Allen key’ and ‘missing cam lock,’ it is deploying the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to administer mandatory ‘Flat-Pack Proficiency’ training.
“Previously, we worried about the ‘Five Cs.’ Now, it’s the ‘Five Ps’: Particle Board, Poor Instructions, P-clips, Patience loss, and Posture damage,” stated Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, addressing reporters while attempting to balance an instruction manual upside down.
Local resident, Mdm Tan, 55, from Tampines, described her ordeal: “*Aiyo, that bookshelf very power, look so nice online. Now my husband sit on the floor crying with that tiny spanner. So embarrassing, I tell you. Better ask my nephew from polytechnic to settle.*”
The new initiative will see regular patrols by SAF technicians capable of assembling any flat-pack item within three minutes, a skill now considered more crucial than aerial defence. Failure to comply with standard assembly protocols may result in mandatory remedial sessions in a supervised ‘IKEA-style’ purgatory.
